Oceanographic systems
3D bathymetry, geographic data, current-field visualization, and acoustic model integration for survey planning support.
I develop computational tools that connect marine environments, survey questions, and scientific models in a shared spatial view.
- See the environment. Combine bathymetry, terrain meshes, and GIS layers to inspect underwater relief alongside survey context.
- Understand current fields. Visualize monthly current climatology and particle advection. Along-track corrections use annual-mean currents to examine travel-time feasibility.
- Connect acoustic evidence. Package BELLHOP model outputs with units and source provenance, then prepare explicit spatial transforms for inspection in 3D environments, including Unreal.
This work is in progress. The current-field examples use climatology, not live forecasts. The visualizations support research and survey planning; they are not navigation systems. Imported model outputs remain distinct from observations and field validation, and visualization does not replace the acoustic solver.

The Hidden Rivers atlas is a separate released visualization with fixed daily HYCOM analyses, depth controls, real seafloor relief, and a Tessera coastal example. Its source periods and limitations differ from the earlier climatology examples described above.
