A CAPTURED CITY

Photographic 3D view

Stream photographic 3D geometry through your Cesium ion account. Downtown St. Louis is available in Google’s photographic tiles; detail and capture dates vary across the region.

Check your ion setup
  1. Enable Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles in your ion account’s assets.
  2. The token needs assets:read and access to that asset.
  3. If the token restricts allowed URLs, include this site: the current browser address. The protocol, hostname and port must match.

Official photographic setup guide ↗

Remembering saves the token and asset ID in this site's browser storage after a successful connection. This app does not encrypt saved tokens; this site's scripts can access them. Without Remember, the token stays in the current connection only. It is never included in shared links, reports, or the public site's files.

No saved connection. Your 3D data stays in Cesium ion and streams as needed.

Saved connections, asset types & limits

Your uploaded models, photogrammetry or point clouds must be available as a 3D Tiles asset. Imagery and terrain assets need their own layer adapters. Saved connections stay in this browser and site address; localhost, the public site and other devices have separate storage. Forgetting removes the saved connection and leaves the current view open.

The token is sent to Cesium ion to authorize the asset. Only the last connection step and HTTP status are retained for troubleshooting. Your account's original files and tiled data remain with Cesium; this app does not create an offline archive.

Use a browser token restricted to the required asset and allowed site URLs. Your ion account must have access to the asset. Provider usage limits and charges still apply.

The open map remains available while the connection is checked.

Photographs contain captured lighting and weather. The separate NWS panel reports current airport conditions. It does not turn the imagery into a live camera or a shadow study.

BEHIND THE SCENE

Data and methods

The map covers St. Louis County and the separate City of St. Louis using OpenStreetMap geometry. Regional buildings and roads load as you explore. A separate, detailed downtown snapshot supports the walking comparisons. OSM coverage is incomplete: an unmapped building or road may be absent.

Current conditions

Weather comes from the National Weather Service station at St. Louis Downtown Airport (KCPS), about 8 km from downtown. The panel identifies the airport station and report time. Reports older than two hours are marked stale and do not control weather effects. Missing fields stay unknown. Temperature and wind are observations; cloud appearance, wet surfaces and precipitation effects are illustrative translations. Previous-hour rainfall is not an instantaneous rain rate.

The sun direction uses NOAA solar equations for the current time and location of downtown St. Louis. Moving the slider enters a light study for today's date; press Now to return to the current sun. Shadows are a visualization, not a survey-grade solar analysis. NWS API documentation ↗

Regional property atlas

The property map connects official source records across all of St. Louis County and the independent City. Wide views show means by geographic cell; zoomed views load individual source records. Counts include separate GIS accounts, not just homes or unique physical properties. Recorded-transfer filters use each record’s latest available dated transfer, not a complete history of transactions in a year. Tax assessments, assessor appraisals and transfer amounts have distinct meanings and source vintages. County coverage and provenance · City coverage and provenance

Walking comparisons

Shortest paths follow the extracted walking graph at 1.3 metres per second, plus straight-line connections from mapped points to nearby graph nodes. These connections, crossings, access restrictions and destination completeness require local verification. Results describe the downloaded network and mapped destinations. Routes near its edge may be truncated. They are exploratory estimates.

Building detail

Heights use mapped height tags, then floor counts multiplied by 3.2 metres, then an explicitly identified visual default. Supplied tags are not independently surveyed measurements. The Arch and selected landmark details are authored interpretations.

Photographic view

When connected, Cesium streams the selected provider’s captured 3D Tiles. This is a separate representation with its own capture dates, coverage and on-screen credits. Downtown Google photographic coverage has been visually checked; that does not verify every location in the county. Mesh surfaces are not legal parcel boundaries. Lighting in the textures is baked in. Studio adjusts color and exposure; the photographic view does not support a physical sun study or synthetic traffic.

Street names in photographic view come from the mapped OpenStreetMap road snapshot. They are a separate overlay, with fewer labels at wider scales, and can be hidden with the Aa camera control or in Studio. Label anchors follow available 3D surfaces; labels do not establish surveyed road alignment. Street-label provenance

City & County address search

County address locations come from the official County GIS address service. Street address, municipality and ZIP queries are supported; broad queries return a bounded set of matches. Municipality and mailing city are separate fields. A County address point supplies no parcel boundary, assessment or listing status. Source edit/publication fields and retrieval time are distinct from survey dates. Point-level terrain and flood evidence can be requested in Site. County source, terms & accuracy limits

Property activity

Activity separates City permits issued in 2025, selected official planning notices and historical County zoning petitions, public LRA availability, and current County organization-name indicators. Name groups preserve literal source spelling; they do not establish beneficial ownership, common control or who bought a parcel at an earlier transfer. Planning hearings, announcements and permit issue dates are labeled separately. Unlocated notices remain in the feed. These are dated snapshots, not complete or continuous permit, planning, listing or acquisition feeds. County permits and comprehensive private-market listings remain unconnected.

Observation history, incentives & utilities

The Regional Observatory groups evidence into Ownership, Development and Utilities. A drawn search area is a geographic bounding box of the selected screen rectangle; it is not a legal parcel boundary. Saved searches stay in this browser. Observation receipts retain a first baseline and later source changes. An observed owner-name change is not a purchase or acquisition date. Failed collection retains the previous complete evidence and reports source health.

The company evidence registry separates dated issuer statements from unresolved parcel-name matches. A shared name does not establish control. The planning document index links official agendas, plans and documents; unlocated documents are regional context. TIF and abatement evidence retains source vintages, raw codes and recorded periods. Incentive markers represent source polygons, not confirmed current entitlements.

City water-service materials distinguish utility-side and customer-side materials, evidence and status. Unknown material is not non-lead. These points do not identify buried pipe routes or measure water quality. The utility directory links official broadband, provider and public-works resources; those links do not establish a connected feed. County water infrastructure, underground electric/cable/fiber routes and comprehensive utility project coverage are not connected.

Official property evidence

Official City parcel geometry and address search come from a dated public GIS snapshot. A shared footprint can contain multiple accounts: select an exact source record before using its attributes. Parcel GIS is not a legal survey. Assessments have no supplied assessment year and are never treated as asking prices. One invalid source geometry is flagged and excluded from exact parcel confirmation.

City zoning assignments join by source HANDLE; split districts and overlay polygons are retained. Effective ordinance dates and dimensional development rules are not established by this lookup. The regional atlas and current-record lookup cover all of St. Louis County. The separate Saved study areas desk retains 6,933 Overland-designated source records plus parcel intersections within 2 km of Page Avenue / I-170: 11,152 historical records in total. That saved desk primarily uses tax year 2023 attributes from a source edited in October 2024; it is distinct from the regional 2026 source tax-year layer. Neither is a house census, listing service or legal survey. Current municipal zoning rules remain unconnected. County parcel provenance. Parcel provenance · Zoning provenance

Public inventory includes only City Land Reutilization Authority records explicitly marked Available. It is partial land-bank coverage, with no private MLS feed. Asking prices are not published by this connection. Retrieval time is separate from source record age; availability requires confirmation with the linked official record. Map display limits do not change matching inventory counts. Official inventory source · City public-data terms

Property notebook

The property notebook stores parcel cases and source-linked records locally in your browser. User-entered claims are not independently verified. Company names and registered agents do not establish common control; assessed values are not transaction prices. Organization connections use exact supplied registration IDs and supporting registry URLs; they describe the notebook’s latest captured acquisitions, not complete current ownership. The selected planning notices are a dated manual review, not an automatic alert feed. Rent scenarios retain the original pro forma’s other assumptions and report an illustrative time-zero contribution required for zero NPV; they do not resize debt, establish financing eligibility or determine household affordability.

Properties & scenarios

CSV listings are processed locally and retain their source, status and as-of date. Asking volume sums active listing records; duplicate parcel IDs can double-count a property. There is no complete listing inventory or denominator for a citywide share-for-sale estimate. Imported parcel identifiers are not externally verified.

The property pro forma projects up to 30 years from explicit acquisition, renovation, rental, cost, financing and exit assumptions. Debt uses monthly amortization with optional interest-only periods, balloon maturity and a refinance. NOI excludes capital replacements and financing; DSCR uses scheduled debt service, with balloons shown separately. NPV and IRR use year-end equity cash flows. IRR is withheld when cash-flow sign changes prevent a unique result. Excel exports recalculate from editable inputs; sensitivity tables are dated snapshots. This is a pre-tax model without construction draws or partnership waterfalls. Historical assessments never auto-fill price, rent or tax bills. The development study can explicitly import year-one NOI from a calculated pro forma; a separate one-year calculator remains available.

Brick, concrete, asphalt and gravel surface maps are CC0 assets from Poly Haven. Windows, facade assignments and roof equipment are authored; these are not photographs of the individual buildings. Material provenance · Regional data manifest
